Balanced Body classes are designed with our clients in mind. In order to achieve optimum results and to give you a thorough understanding of our work, we recommend attending group mat Pilates classes at least two (2) times a week for at least one month prior to joining semi-privates (duets) or group equipment classes. This is applicable for Pilates only.
Clients may opt to start with Group Gyrokinesis Classes prior to signing up to Individual Gyrotonic Training.
Registration is required for all classes and sessions. This is to insure that the class level is appropriate and that space is available. Class placement and/or advancement is at the discretion of the instructor. If we find that you are not able to perform the basic exercises because of health or fitness limitations, you may be asked to switch to private sessions for your own safety.
Attendance
All sessions are by appointment only. Attendance is mandatory at your registered time slot(s), as spaces have been set aside for you upon registration.
Pilates mat classes, if purchased as a package, must be used within an 8-week period starting from the date of your first class. Gyrokinesis classes are valid within an 8-week period and must also be used within the allotted time frame. Once the time period has elapsed, any missed classes will be forfeited.
Most especially for Individual/Private Pilates and Gyrotonic classes, please arrive a few minutes early for your scheduled appointment. This will allow adequate time to change, to relax and unwind.
Make-up Classes
Make-up classes are permitted only during the time frame allotted for your package (e.g. 8 weeks for Pilates, 8 weeks for Gyrokinesis) otherwise they are forfeited. Make-up classes must be scheduled to ensure that there is available space in the class you wish to make up in. Once a make-up class has been scheduled and missed again, it will also be forfeited.
In case you cannot make it to class, please inform Balanced Body at least two (2) days in advance so that we can open your slot to other clients.
Cancellation for Individual/Private Classes
If you are unable to make your individual/private class and do not give at least 48 hours notice, you will be charged for the session. As a courtesy to our trainers and other clients, we regret that we must enforce this policy strictly.
Studio Etiquette
1. Arrive on time. Arrive at least 10 minutes before the class is scheduled
to start to give yourself time to relax and unwind. Most teachers understand that sometimes being late is unavoidable. If you arrive late please enter the studio as quietly as possible, find your spot, and begin your workout without disturbing those who are focused on the class.
2. Remove shoes and wear socks. The floor is where you will be spending most of your time so it’s best to keep it clean. Socks are a requirement for all Balanced Body classes, both mat and equipment based.
3. Refrain from using cellular phones. We ask that you please turn off cell phones or switch them to silent mode before entering the studio. Make a habit of doing this so you don’t disrupt your workout or others.
4. Keep conversation levels low. Remember, Pilates/Gyro are mind-body exercises and your concentration and dedication is key. Come out of the class centered, calm, and feeling great!
5. Inform the instructor. Let your instructor know of any serious health concerns such as neck, back, or joint injuries, other special needs, or questions prior to your class. Also, if you are pregnant, please communicate this so that exercises may be modified during class.
